Around 2 years ago, Google had acquire a company which made creating wiki archive easy. The company was called Jotspot which provided tools for creating structured wiki. After Google took over the company, it started to bring more features into the tool and integrated it with most of the available Google Apps, allowing user to create a very interactive web pages.

User had to just create an account and may be subscribe to one of Google’s apps and start creating the page. This has added a value to all the small and medium business which doesn’t require much to spend on IT infrastructure.

But now user will be getting more from the Google Sites. Google has recently added a whole gamut of cool and interesting template to the Google site, giving user the ability to chose template of their choice and go ahead with the design. The easier part of the tool is that user doesn’t have to know the complication of HTML and other technical related works.

Inorder to try the newer version, I tried creating one of my own websites and here is how it went:

1. Enter the Google Site and click on more templates. Here you can see whole lot of range of templates from every interest of ares chosen for you to use.

2. I chose Project Wiki and clicked on the “Select Button”, thats easy!!

3. Now lets fill some little details of website like name and description.

4. After that you will have to fill a verification code and Hurray!! you have a site..

But wait!!!  that is just the beginning. Now you have to spend time arranging and modifying the sizes of pictures and changing the content. But this is a very good start, so if you have a very small or medium size business with less employees and no IT team here is the solution.

Future is more about consumer’s experience and tools such as these will allow business to deal with actual business problem and all other technical stuff can be rented like with Google Sites.
