Having no control over your distribution channel is a night mare of any email marketing professional. But in this highly polluted crowd of software (with false claims), it is difficult to find the right software to execute your email marketing plan. As we are leaving in an age of sharing and distribution, there seems to be lot of potential in developing a software that solves enterprise’s problem, and here I may have found one such product. Its called OpenEMM and is based on open source web application platform.
I have been testing with the software and its really quite easy to carry out your email campaign. Though I have been testing it on small scale, I can see its potential for large campaigns. You can down load the software here and try on you own.
OpenEMM is the first open source application for e-mail marketing. Its code base has been developed since 1999 and is used (as part of the commercial ASP product E-Marketing Manager) by companies like IBM, Siemens and Deutsche Telekom.
OpenEMM offers already more than 95% of the functionality of most commercial products and some features commercial products do not offer right now (i.e. MySQL support).
The main difference is, that OpenEMM is an easy to set up single server solution, while its big brother E-Marketing Manager operates on several distributed servers as software on demand (ASP).

You may find a bit difficulty during installation as it requires lot of other dependent supports but once you get it installed and running, the software is worth a try. As I have been testing the application for quite a while, I would want to get feedback on how it is working for you and may be sharing other useful links too.

Hi mergen,
thanks for dropping by…
openEMM is cool.. but it still needs to work around its interfacing and flow.. there is a place for improvement.. otherwise its pretty good..
